Another important player for the Oregon State Beavers has announced his retirement due to this heartbreaking…
David Morris of Oregon State, a junior safety who produced noteworthy outcomes when healthy, has left the team due to a medical retirement.
The news was confirmed to The Oregonian/OregonLive by an OSU representative. Morris played in just one game during the previous season despite starting seven games and recording 75 tackles as a rookie in 2017.
Morris, a Sherwood High alum, was an instant hit at Oregon State, but injuries have kept him off the field for the majority of his four-year career.
Morris’s repeated foot injuries kept him out of the game for the majority of 2018. Morris participated in ten games in 2019 but only started six due to a hamstring injury. Morris participated in the season opener against Washington State before missing the next six games due to injury and COVID-19 protocol.
Morris appeared in 24 games over four years, starting 14. He forced two fumbles, made 120 tackles, and had one interception. In a 2017 season loss to Minnesota, Morris once recorded a 17-tackle effort.
