Both the Detroit Lions and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers returned to practice on Thursday ahead of their Divisional Round playoff matchup at Ford Field on Sunday at 3 p.m. ET.

The Lions are still on the right track as of right now. In addition to adding James Houston, an edge rusher, to the 53-man roster, wide receiver Kalif Raymond was the only other player who did not practice.

Not a drill WR Raymond Kalif (knee)
Though Raymond was making “a ton” of improvement, according to coach Dan Campbell on Wednesday, the quick wide receiver was still unable to enter the practice field on Thursday. He’ll undoubtedly be out for the second straight game if he can’t go on Friday. Nonetheless, he could be able to make a comeback if he can practice on Friday.

TE Downgraded from expected full practice is Sam LaPorta (knee). Wednesday
LaPorta’s drop from an expected full practice on Wednesday may raise some minor concerns, but it’s also possible that this is just a way to manage his workload this week so that on Sunday, he performs at his peak. We should have a clearer idea of his status after practice on Friday.

Wright seems to be on schedule to return to action this weekend after playing through an injury last week.

The date is January 14, 2012. We are in San Francisco at Candlestick Park. The 49ers need a touchdown with 14 seconds remaining, down three, and facing a third down to maintain their hopes of making the playoffs without having to go to OT. In the meantime, the Saints can draw a conclusion from this and move on to the NFC Championship Game. We need to look back in time to comprehend how we got here and to fully appreciate what this moment signifies.

During Wednesday’s walkthrough, Ragnow took a day off for veteran rest. On Thursday, he returned to the practice field. Come Sunday, the Lions’ covert weapon ought to be prepared.

Houston is still not out of the woods despite being activated from injured reserve. In spite of his practice performances, he will still need to convince coaches that he is prepared to play.

After suffering an injury against the Rams, Anzalone left the game for a short while before coming back to finish it. Although he needs to lighten his workload, he should be ready to play on Sunday.

Despite suffering fresh injuries against the Rams, Branch and Joseph were estimated to have practiced fully on Wednesday and did so on Thursday. They are well positioned.
