Another terrible news hit the New Jersey Devils Day just revealed a heartbreaking..
For the first time in his career, Patrick Kane is an unrestricted free agent after the New York Rangers were eliminated in seven games during their first-round playoff run.
The Rangers didn’t have a good season with Kane. His lower-body issue has persisted, but he’s not sure if surgery is necessary yet.
His dedication to the Rangers has put an end to the rumors that he is retiring. He says he would gladly re-sign with the Rangers, but he never even considered playing for the struggling Blackhawks again.
“With this team and with this opportunity, I would love that chance,” Kane stated. “I am aware that they likely have other priorities and have young guys to sign. Though I will be 35 years old in a year, I don’t feel that old. I still have a youthful feeling. The passion seems to be still present. I am aware that if I dedicate all of my attention to hockey, I could be a very good player.”
The Rangers’ early departure means that the Hawks’ selection from the Patrick Kane trade is a second-round pick this year. The Rangers would have been selected in the first round if they had made it to the Eastern Conference Finals.
