Defense end Khalid Kareem and center Doug Kramer Jr. were signed by the Bears on Tuesday to reserve/future contracts.
The Bears selected Illinois native Kramer in the sixth round of the 2022 draft. He played in two games this season as a reserve after missing his whole rookie campaign due to a leg injury. Kramer was cut after two weeks of not making an appearance in a game after being signed by the Cardinals in November from the Bears practice squad. The Bears then welcomed him back.
Kareem made his season debut on October 29 in a Los Angeles Chargers game, earning one tackle and one pass breakup. Kareem played for the Bengals (2020–21) and Colts (2022–2022) for three seasons before joining the Bears in 2023. During that time, he recorded 29 tackles, 1.0 sack, and two tackles for loss.
The majority of the 15 players who the Bears have now signed to reserve or future contracts were members of their practice squad for all or part of the 2023 season. This is the roster:
