The Ohio State Buckeyes have just announced another unexpected great signing…

Devontae Armstrong, an offensive lineman from Lakewood (Ohio) St. Edward State, a two-time state champion, was signed by Ohio State football recruiting on Wednesday, potentially marking a significant advancement toward the class of 2024’s largest and possibly best offensive line haul.

The 6-foot-6 Devontae chose the Buckeyes over several other national offers, including those from Georgia, Michigan, Michigan State, Wisconsin, Penn State, Kentucky, and Pitt.

Both Armstrong and the other twin tackle, who are both rated at slightly under 300 pounds, were offered by the in-state power back in January and have both been frequent visitors to the program. Deontae, the brother of Armstrong, has also committed to the Buckeyes.

The desire for the two boys to play football together and attend school was never hidden.

As juniors, the twin brothers assisted St. Edward in winning the Ohio Division 1 state championship in 2022. The team also successfully defended its 2021 crown, earning recognition from several sites as one of the best high school programs in America. During their junior seasons, Devontae mostly worked alongside his brother at left guard, while Deontae played left tackle.

The twins Armstrong might be a mainstay on Ohio State’s and Ryan Day’s offensive line starting in 2024.
