Another terrible news hit the Chiefs as Andy Reid just revealed a heartbreaking..

Both the Miami Dolphins and the Kansas City Chiefs were suffering with player injuries going into the Wild Card round. Saturday night, early in the first half quarter, the Chiefs saw defensive tackle Derrick Nnadi depart the game, so they added another name to their list of worries.

Due to an elbow injury, Nnadi had to leave the game in the first quarter and was deemed unlikely to return. However, Nnadi was demoted to out after getting a little more attention from the team’s training staff during halftime. Nnadi won’t be available to the Chiefs for the remainder of the game as a result.

Nnadi was demoted to out after the Chiefs watched him depart throughout the first half of the Wild Card game.
An already thin part of the squad will be made worse by the loss of Nnadi up front. Throughout the entire season, the Chiefs have made numerous unsuccessful attempts to supplement Chris Jones at defensive tackle.

Keondre Coburn was drafted by general manager Brett Veach, but he was lost twice to waivers. In exchange for Neil Farrell, he sent a sixth-round pick to the Las Vegas Raiders, but Farrell never makes a play. The Chiefs acquired veteran Mike Pennel off the street to the practice squad a few weeks ago, and it didn’t take him long to start receiving a good number of rotating reps.

Many of the linemen, notably Jones, Mike Danna, and Charles Omenihu, are capable of sliding inside and out, which is good news for the Chiefs.

In 2023, Nnadi’s sixth season with the Chiefs saw him record 29 tackles and 1 sack. After being taken in the second round of the 2018 NFL Draft, he has appeared in 98 games overall.
