The Golden State Warriors have just announced another unexpected great signing…

The Sacramento Kings have made a roster change following weeks of holding their last available place.

The Kings have signed former Golden State Warriors forward Juan Toscano-Anderson to a one-year contract, per ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski.

The 30-year-old Toscano-Anderson has played with the Mexico City Capitanes of the G-League during the first month of the 2023–24 regular season. In 11 games, he has averaged 19.4 points, 6.4 rebounds, and 3.6 assists per game on 48/31/96 shooting splits.

After Wojnarowski’s news, the former Warrior sent a message on social media for Kings supporters.

More about Juan Toscano-Anderson, the forward for the Kings
After playing for the Golden State Warriors, Los Angeles Lakers, and Utah Jazz for the first five seasons, the Oakland native is back in Northern California.

Along the way to winning a championship for his hometown team, Toscano-Anderson averaged 4.1 points and 2.2 rebounds per game across 73 appearances (14 in the postseason). This helped the Warriors win the 2021–22 NBA Finals.

In an effort to re-establish himself as a contender for an NBA team, “JTA” moved to the G-League after failing to get reliable playing time with the Lakers and Jazz.

Although Toscano-Anderson’s offensive statistics aren’t particularly impressive, Sacramento hasn’t had much wing depth or physicality in the first few games of the regular season.

With a career defensive rating of 110, the seasoned forward would be ranked second on a Kings team that hasn’t played reliable defense since the beginning of the previous campaign.

JTA is unlikely to enter Mike Brown’s rotation; instead, Brown is more likely to use the new wing when Sacramento finds it difficult to contain opposing wings, as happened in Tuesday night’s defeat in Los Angeles.

More players with guts, hustle, and defensive effect are needed in Sacramento. A 6’10” wingspan also helps.

Juan Toscano-Anderson, who can improve this team’s defensive depth, is now available.

When will the Sacramento Kings play next?
The Sacramento Kings will make their way back home for a six-game home stand against the Oklahoma City Thunder, which is scheduled to begin on Thursday night.

In their only meeting, the Kings defeated the Thunder on November 10th, 105-98, thanks to contributions from Kevin Huerter (28 points) and Keegan Murray (24 points), while De’Aaron Fox (ankle) was out.
