The first-ever Lions President expressing gratitude for the team’s postseason victory history.

For the Detroit Lions, it has taken a very long time. On January 14, the team will host its first playoff game in thirty years. The team is making its postseason debut for the first time since 2016.

Lions President Rod Wood was determined to use this opportunity to send a social media message to the team’s supporters.

On his former Twitter account, Wood wrote, “Lions fans, thank you for all your years of support, especially this season.” You have been anticipating this for a while.

We are confident that you will create a gameday experience that Ford Field has never seen before.

“Let’s make this a night we won’t soon forget—get here early and be louder than ever.”

Ford Field opened in 2002 and hosted its first-ever Lions playoff game on January 14. However, the stadium did not host the Super Bowl after the 2005 season.

Furthermore, the matchup will be the first NFL playoff game in downtown Detroit since 1957.

The playoff game between the Lions and the Los Angeles Rams will kick off at Ford Field at 8:00 p.m. ET.
