Breaking: A Indianapolis colts Important player is facing additional charges related to domestic abuse.

Indianapolis Colts tight end On Friday, Drew Ogletree was taken into custody in Hendricks County, Indiana, following reports of domestic violence.

According to state records, Ogletree, a 2022 sixth-round selection, was taken into custody by deputies and charged with two level six felonies: domestic abuse in the presence of a child under the age of sixteen and domestic battery causing moderate bodily harm.

Penalties for level six felonies include up to two and a half years in prison and a fine of up to $10,000.

Records state that Ogletree was taken into custody at 3:42 p.m. on Friday and that, as of Friday night, he had not been released. The Colts issued a statement on Friday night acknowledging the circumstances.

“We are aware of the disturbing allegations involving Drew Ogletree,” it stated. “These are issues that the team takes seriously. The NFL has been informed, and we are currently obtaining additional details. We won’t be making any more comments at this time.

The Avon, Indiana, police department stated that the Tuesday night incident was the reason for the arrest. In response to a domestic disturbance between Ogletree and a woman, officers were called to a residence.

The woman was found in pain in an upstairs bedroom, according to a probable cause affidavit written by the first responding officer and given to ESPN. During a fight, Ogletree “body slammed” the woman to the ground, the woman told police. The woman was taken to the hospital after an ambulance was called, according to the police.

The affidavit states that the altercation took place in the house with Ogletree’s young son present. Ogletree turned himself in to the Hendricks County Jail on Friday after an arrest warrant was issued on Thursday following additional investigation.

In a crucial game for their postseason hopes, the Colts, who are in the thick of the AFC playoff race, take on the Las Vegas Raiders on Sunday. It’s uncertain if Ogletree will be permitted to participate.

The second-year tight end was sidelined for his entire rookie campaign due to injury, but he is back in 2023 and has caught nine passes for 147 yards and two touchdowns in 12 games.
