Sadly,Indianapolis colts top player suspended for four games for violating the NFL substance abuse policy
INDIANAPOLIS (AP) — Al-Quadin Muhammad, a defensive end for the Indianapolis Colts, has been suspended by the NFL for six games for using performance-enhancing drugs.
Following Wednesday’s announcement, the Miami alum will be ineligible for the five regular-season games that Indianapolis still has left, and he will miss either the season opener or a playoff game the following year. If the suspension extends into 2024, he would also be qualified to play in the preseason games the following summer and take part in practices until the start of the regular season.
One game behind Jacksonville, who leads the AFC South, is Indianapolis (7-5) in the running for the seventh and final postseason spot in the AFC.
COMMERCIAL
Muhammad, a 2017 sixth-round draft selection by New Orleans, has played two stints for the Colts. After being selected off waivers by Indianapolis in 2018, the team saw him mature into a 17-game starter by 2022. After that season, he moved to Chicago to play last year, following Matt Eberflus, his former defensive coordinator.
Muhammad was brought back to Indianapolis by the Bears after they released him in February.
Grover Stewart, a defensive tackle who stops the run, is returning to the Colts this week after serving a six-game suspension for the same offense, coinciding with Muhammad’s suspension.
