A Super Prospects with 46 goals and 53 assists is recalled by the Montreal Canadiens

Joshua Roy was recalled by the Montreal Canadiens from the Laval Rocket of the American Hockey League. Roy, a 20-year-old, is regarded as the team’s best forward prospect.

Roy is having an incredible Rockets season. With an astounding 12 goals and 18 assists for a total of 30 points in 34 games, the rookie is presently second in the team scoring standings.

In terms of rookie scoring, he trails only Brandt Clarke and Logan Stankoven in the race for the league lead, coming in third.

The Canadiens had plenty of opportunity to fill the NHL ranks with AHL talent, but they refrained from calling up their highly prized prospect in the early part of the season. Before throwing Roy to the wolves in the NHL, the plan was for him to establish himself in the professional ranks.

Roy got off to a great start in his professional career, scoring 12 points in his first six games. Although it was to be expected for a rookie, he cooled off significantly in the ensuing weeks. However, in his last six games, he has scored seven points.

It has been advantageous for him to drive to high-scoring areas. The Rockets have won seven of their last ten games, and Roy and Brandon Gignac have been the main forces behind the team’s offensive explosion every night. The Rockets have also recently risen in the North Division rankings.

Possibility of Use
When the Montreal Canadiens play the Edmonton Oilers on Saturday night, there are a few ways that Roy might be used in the starting lineup. Roy would prefer not to use fourth lines. Although he is a young player with an excellent scoring touch, his potential to score will only be realized if he is positioned to be productive.

Although Roy wouldn’t be able to try out for a first line audition, he could concentrate on offense by playing with guys like Sean Monahan and Rafael Harvey-Pinard, who can make room and time for their teammates.
