SEALED; Oklahoma Sooners has just completed another big signing.

The Oklahoma Sooners are off and running on the first day of the 2024 early signing period. Several of their prospects signed their national letters of intent to play basketball at Oklahoma early this morning, kicking off the process.

Nearly every player from Oklahoma committed to the 2024 class is anticipated to sign with the Sooners on the first day of the early signing period. But as the Peyton Bowen signing from a year ago demonstrated, there might be a surprise or two during the early signing window.

Here are the players who officially joined the Oklahoma Sooners as the team prepares to welcome in its 2024 recruiting class.

Daniel Akinkunmi, London, England – 3-Star OL – ATTACHED

Daniel Akinkunmi picked the Sooners over Clemson, Baylor, and Miami in the 2024 recruiting cycle. He is ranked as the 39th best interior offensive lineman. Ole Miss, Arkansas, Nebraska, North Carolina, Penn State, Duke, and Texas Tech were among the schools on his offer sheet. – Sooners Wire’s John Williams

Reggie Powers, Dayton, Ohio’s 4-star safety – ATTACHED

The Sooners acquire a large, tall, swift, athletic, and versatile safety prospect in Reggie Powers. He is able to play in the box as well as free safety. He might be a contender to work at cheetah in Brent Venables’ defense because of his size and athleticism. – Sooners Wire’s John Williams

K.J. Daniels, a Franklinton, Louisiana, three-star wideout – Attested

Kelly Daniels is regarded as a three-star prospect and is a real big play waiting to happen. Following an amazing junior season in which he gained 2,594 yards and 39 touchdowns on 9.4 yards per carry, Xavier Robinson made a major impact. In 2023, he had yet another outstanding campaign and won Max Preps Oklahoma Prep Player of the Year. Wyatt Gilmore, 4-Star Edge, SIGNED; Rogers, MN

Fans of the Oklahoma Sooners will adore Wyatt Gilmore. He has a strong motor when playing, moving around the ball all the time and making plays. Most likely, he will work on building his physique and bulking up for the 2025 season during the 2024 campaign. Odessa, Texas’s 4-Star wide receiver Ivan Carreon has signed.

Ivan Carreon’s size is the first thing you notice about him when he’s playing football. He is taller than defensive backs at six feet, six inches. But he is more than that. Carreon has a complete route tree at his disposal and runs routes smoothly. Signed 4-star wide receiver Zion Kearney from Missouri City, Texas

Kearney runs track as well, and video footage shows that he can reach top speed in the open field. In February of his junior year, he recorded times of 10.89 and 10.98 for the 100 meters. After recording 39 receptions for 765 yards and eight touchdowns in 2022, he was chosen unanimously for the Texas District 20-6A first team in the fall. Kearney exhibits the capacity to play both wide and as a big slot. Moore, Oklahoma – Mykel Patterson-McDonald – Rivals 4-Star Safety – SIGNED

Mykel PattersonMcDonald assaults the ball in midair as an assertive safety. In run support, he plays with speed and physicality and is a willing tackler. – Williams, John; Sooners Wire

Danny Okoye, Tulsa, Oklahoma – 4-Star edge – Attested

Danny Okoye is equipped physically to contribute right away to Oklahoma. You are concerned about his high school competition, but the resources are available. He has a promising future and could be used by them as a situational pass rusher in 2024. – Sooners Wire’s Jaron Spor

3-star quarterback Brenden Zurbrugg of Alliance, Ohio, has signed.

At six feet three inches, Zurbrugg will be the program’s all-time leader in passing touchdowns, completion percentage, passing yards, and completion percentage when he graduates from Alliance High School. He was an all-state first-team performer in 2023 as a senior. Sooners Wire’s Bryant Crews

3-Star OT Josh Aisosa of Santa Fe, Edmond, Oklahoma, has signed.

At 6-foot-4 and 305 pounds, Aisosa is an offensive lineman who will likely play guard for Oklahoma. In addition, he has experience with wrestling, which is usually advantageous for offensive linemen. Immediately, the name Creed Humphrey comes to mind. – Sooners Wire’s Jaron Spor

Melissa, Texas – Nigel Smith, 4-Star DL, SIGNED

Nigel Smith’s specialty is power. He bull rushes opponents with exceptional raw strength. Smith intends to enroll early in order to be on campus in January, when Oklahoma begins its winter ball season. Sooners Wire’s Bryant Crews

Signed: Michael Hawkins, a 4-star quarterback from Frisco, Texas

Because of his father, who played defensive back for Oklahoma under Brent Venables, Michael Hawkins has a legacy at Oklahoma. Throughout the past two years, the younger Hawkins has developed steadily into a surgical passer. He had video game stats in his senior year. 4-star OL Eddy Pierre-Louis is located in Tampa, Florida. – ATTACHED

The 335-pound, 6-foot-3 guard is an anomaly in nature. During a camp last summer, Eddy Pierre-Louis set a record with 25 bench press reps at 225 pounds. In 2023, that would have ranked 16th among offensive linemen at the NFL combine. In high school, he also ran a 100-meter dash in 12.97 seconds. – Sooners Wire’s Jaron Spor

4-Star CB (Rivals) Eli Bowen, of Guyer, Denton, Texas, has signed.

Though he is Peyton Bowen’s younger brother, Eli Bowen is no pushover. He is a 5-foot-9, 165-pound cornerback and a four-star prospect. He plays larger than his stature would imply. Sooners Wire’s Bryant Crews

4-Star CB Devon Jordan of Union High in Tulsa, Oklahoma, has signed.

Jordan moves very quickly. As a junior in the spring of 2023, he actually ran a wind-aided 10.71 100 meters and 21.93 200 meters at the OSAA 6A regional meet, according to 247Sports. With a wind-legal time of 10.91 in the 100, he finished fifth at the OSAA 6A meet. The Sooners can exploit speed in the secondary. – Sooners Wire’s Jaron Spor

Junction City, Kansas’s Michael Boganowski, a 4-Star ATH, is signed.

Originally recruited as a safety, he dominated at Junction City (Kansas) High School, where he stood 6 feet 2 inches and 205 pounds. It’s safe to assume he’ll start college as a safety as well, but due to his frame, he may end up at the most flexible position on the defense—cheetah—or slide down and bulk up to play linebacker. 4-star CB Jeremiah Newcombe, Queen Creek, AZ, SIGNED

Newcombe, a four-star prospect by most accounts, is ranked No. 27 among cornerbacks in the 2024 recruiting class. As he develops physically, Newcombe, a two-way player for Casteel, will only get better as an athlete. – Sooners Wire’s John Williams

Lewisville, Texas’s Jaydan Hardy, a 4-star safety, has signed.

Jaydan Hardy is a versatile safety who has demonstrated his ability to play deep safety, in the box, and at cornerback. He was able to play both wide receiver and tight end for the Lewisville Farmers thanks to his athleticism. – Sooners Wire’s John Williams

Four-star tight end Davon Mitchell is signed and hails from Los Alamitos, California.

Before reclassifying to the 2024 class, Davon Mitchell was regarded as a five-star prospect and the top tight end in the 2025 class. Mitchell might immediately compete for a substantial amount of playing time. – Sooners Wire’s Jaron Spor

Five-star DL David Stone is from Bradenton, Florida. – ATTACHED

At 6 feet 4 inches tall, he can easily lift 280 pounds. He could certainly add more mass with that frame. That size is unmatched at the highest levels of high school football, along with exceptional athleticism, technique, charisma, and production. Isaiah Autry: Fulton, Mississippi; 3-star offensive lineman; signed

Autry is the top offensive tackle in the state of Mississippi; he is strong and has good technique. He stops a rusher cold once he gets a hold of them. Because of his 6-foot-7 height, Autry can reach far enough to keep rushers from getting close to his body and preserve leverage. Five-star running back Taylor Tatum of Longview, Texas, has signed.

Taylor Tatum is a valuable asset in both the passing and running games. It is anticipated that this multi-sport athlete will participate in both baseball and football at Oklahoma.
