SEALED; Buffalo Bills has just completed another big signing.

Veteran free agent running back Leonard Fournette has joined the Bills practice squad, the team announced on Tuesday.

With 4,478 career rushing yards and 34 touchdowns on 1,132 carries, Fournette, 28, is in his seventh season in the NFL. His career receiving yards total exceed 2,000 as well.

Fournette was a free agent through the first eight weeks of the 2023 season. He previously played for the Jacksonville Jaguars and Tampa Bay Rays before joining the Bills. With the Bills, he’ll don No. 5.

After spending three seasons in Jacksonville following his fourth-round NFL Draft selection by the Jaguars in 2017, Fournette signed a contract with the Buccaneers before the 2020 campaign began. For three seasons, he was a player for the Bucs.

During his four playoff games with Tampa Bay in 2020, Fournette amassed 300 yards of rushing and 148 yards of receiving with four touchdowns in all. It was an incredible run. Fournette finished with 135 total yards and a touchdown in Tampa’s victory over the Chiefs in Super Bowl LV.

Including six touchdowns, Fournette finished 2022 with 1,191 scrimmage yards (668 rushes and 523 receptions).

As the second half of the season draws near, Fournette’s addition provides Buffalo with more depth at running back. James Cook, Leonard Fournette, Ty Johnson, and Latavius Murray are the current members of the Bills’ running back group.

The team let go of DT Kendal Vickers in a related deal.
