Draymond Green, a star for the Golden State Warriors, has retired, suffering an indefinite suspension.

The first came after putting Rudy Gobert in a chokehold.
Green had to meet specific requirements in order to be reinstated, but revealed on the latest episode of “The Draymond Green Show” that he was almost retired.
But a conversation with Commissioner Adam Silver helped change his mind.

“I told him, ‘Adam, this is too much for me. This is too much. It’s all becoming too much for me, and I’m going to retire,’” Green explained. “And Adam said, ‘You’re making a very rash decision and I won’t let you do that.’
“We had a long, great conversation, which was very helpful to me. I’m very thankful to play in a league with a commissioner like Adam who’s more about helping you than hurting you, helping you than punishing you,” he added. “He’s more about the players.”
Green was ejected for his actions during the Suns-Warriors game, which Nurkic called “reckless” and told reporters Green “needs help.”
The forward, though, claimed he didn’t mean to hit Nurkic and apologized, adding that he was just trying to sell the call.
Green was reinstated after missing the last 12 games. The NBA said in a statement that the 33-year-old “demonstrated his commitment to conforming his conduct to standards expected of NBA players.”
He’s met with representatives of the league and will continue to do so as the season continues.
Golden State went 7–6 in his absence. The Warriors return to action Wednesday against the New Orleans Pelicans, but it’s unclear if Green will suit up.
