BREAKING: The Los Angeles Rams star receiver Puka Nacua shares emotional embrace with his mom after…
For Los Angeles Rams wide receiver Puka Nacua, it was a historic last day of the regular season, capping off a campaign that may have been worthy of Offensive Rookie of the Year.
Against the rival San Francisco 49ers, Nacua, a fifth-round draft pick from BYU, caught four passes for 41 yards and one touchdown in an unexpected 21-20 upset victory.
Nacua achieved this by breaking the records for the most catches and receiving yards by a rookie in NFL history.
Following the historic catch, the rookie approached his mother and hugged her tightly.
Nacua broke the 63-year-old record for receiving yards, which was set in 1960 by Bill Groman (1,473 yards) while he was playing for the Houston Oilers. Nacua had 1,486 at the end of the regular season.
