BREAKING: The head coach of the Los Angeles Rams has revealed that one of his key players was arrested for the following offenses:

Shortly after his team’s victory over the Arizona Cardinals at SoFi Stadium, Los Angeles Rams cornerback Derion Kendrick was taken into custody early on Monday morning, according to TMZ Sports.

TMZ claims that when police pulled over 23-year-old Kendrick for a traffic infraction, they discovered a concealed handgun in his vehicle. According to jail records, Kendrick was taken into custody at 2:14 a.m. PT (5:14 a.m. ET) and was still there as of 2:30 p.m.

To TMZ’s request for comment, the Rams have not yet provided a response. As of Monday night, there are also no additional details available regarding the arrest.

Kendrick has a history of problems off the field. He was expelled from the Clemson football program in February 2021 as a result of several disciplinary violations. Coach Dabo Swinney of Clemson even addressed the topic following the Tigers’ victory over Pittsburgh in November 2020.

Swinney stated, “We just didn’t play him today,” according to 247Sports. “He may be in the dog house, according to some. He’s in the love shack, as I like to say. Just a tiny bit of self-control. I cherish DK. In fact, he’s one of my favorites. This weekend, just put him in the love shack.”

Following his dismissal from Clemson, Kendrick played his final collegiate season in 2021 at Georgia, where he was a key player in the Bulldogs’ first of two consecutive national championship victories.

In the sixth round of the 2022 NFL Draft, the Rams selected Kendrick, who made six starts in his debut season. However, the Rams have relied heavily on Kendrick and other young defensive backs like safety Russ Yeast and cornerback Cobie Durant to step up in the wake of significant defensive line changes this offseason. Kendrick has started every game the Rams have played this season and has played at least 89 percent of the snaps.

Kendrick has seven passes defensed and 68 total tackles during his tenure with the Rams.
