ANGELES — Bobby Brown, a defensive lineman for the Los Angeles Rams, has been suspended by the NFL for the first six games of the 2022 season without pay for breaking the league’s policy regarding performance-enhancing drugs. The team made this announcement on Monday.

After the Rams’ Week 6 match, on October 17, Brown, 21, will be able to return to the active roster. He will see his first action in a game in Week 8 against the San Francisco 49ers. The Rams are off in Week 7.

Texas A&M’s Brown, a 2021 fourth-round selection, saw just 22 defensive snaps in his rookie campaign despite playing in 10 games.

Brown was anticipated to contribute more to the defending Super Bowl champions’ lineup, which still includes three-time NFL Defensive Player of the Year Aaron Donald, Greg Gaines, and A’Shawn Robinson, after free agent Sebastian Joseph-Day left.

Brown is permitted to take part in preseason games and training camp drills.
