Another heartbreaking piece of news for the Sooners, who could become well-known in 2024 if Oklahoma moves up to the SEC.

The college football season of 2023 is almost over. Days remain until Washington and Michigan play in the College Football Playoff championship game, and Oklahoma’s season came to an end last week in San Antonio at the Alamo Bowl.

The games are nearly over. Early signing is no longer available. The winter transfer portal period is now closed; however, some college football players may still access it in the next few days.

We have a good idea of the Sooners’ roster going into 2024, when the program is expected to undergo a transformation thanks to the addition of Jackson Arnold as the starting quarterback, Seth Littrell as the offensive coordinator, and the SEC as a new conference. The 30-day end-of-season transfer window opened on Monday, signaling the beginning of transfer portal season.

With a few players declaring their intentions to transfer before the transfer window opened on Monday, the Sooners saw the beginning of their roster turnover last week.

Since the window opened, more have emerged, the most notable of which is starting quarterback Dillon Gabriel, who has helped Oklahoma get ready to move from the Big 12 to the SEC and set the stage for the Jackson Arnold era in Norman.
