Three of their key players have suffered serious injuries, according to the Detroit Lions coach.

In order to get ready for their Week 18 matchup against the Minnesota Vikings, the Detroit Lions went back to the practice field on Wednesday. Jameson Williams, a wide receiver, did not take part in Wednesday’s practice. Coach Dan Campbell had listed him as day-to-day due to an ankle injury.

Tight end Brock Wright and offensive tackle Taylor Decker were among the others who did not take part. The Lions intend to start all of their starters against the Minnesota Vikings because a win and losses by Dallas and Philadelphia would still guarantee them the No. 2 seed in the NFC. Campbell did, however, add that the interests of the injured players would come first when making decisions. “I mean, there’s some guys here, if we feel like the best thing for them would be to sit because of injury, we’re thinking about that,” Campbell stated. “We’re taking that into consideration.

“The return of several defensive linemen, such as defensive tackle Alim McNeill and safety C.J. Gardner-Johnson, is anticipated by the Lions. With James Houston vying to make a comeback in the opening round of the playoffs, Campbell is hoping to add both to the active roster this week.

McNeill’s 21-day practice clock officially began on Wednesday, and he is eligible to return from injured reserve this week. It’s thrilling whenever you believe you’re regaining some of your best football players. You inquired about Mac, who is a talented football player,” Campbell said. “Ducey is a good football player; hopefully, we can get him back this week.

That’s when you feel Branch, Iffy, and Kerby improving and maturing together on the back end. Then you consider Ducey returning, which he does, creating opportunities and bringing back another player who can make plays. That’s right, it’s thrilling.”
