Sadly: Dallas Cowboys coach has revealed the passing of team captain

TYLER SMITH UPDATE DEC 30 The Cowboys emerged victorious in the game despite losing the lineman, and it now seems that Tyler Smith, their star left guard, may recover from a “scary-sounding” injury.

Throughout the Dallas Cowboys’ 20-19 victory over the Detroit Lions, Smith went down and seemed to be grabbing his left foot. In the end, he managed to walk to the sidelines on his own, escorted by medical personnel and making his way to the medical tent.

Following the victory, Smith announced in the locker room that he had strained his plantar fascia and would soon get an MRI.

Now that NFL Network has revealed that the “complete” tear of the plantar fascia is in fact “good news,” we have even more information.

Indeed, that seems illogical. Though there is talk that Smith might play despite the injury, it appears that the tear means this won’t be a long-term problem as the team plays at awful Washington next week before going into the postseason.
