Coach of the New Jersey Devils painfully announces the catastrophic injury of their most talented player.

As of right now, Timo Meier, the star forward for thec, appears to have had some bad news.

The highest-paid forward in New Jersey was not present during practice on Tuesday morning as the Devils took to the ice for the first time in 2024.

We were aware that following the holiday break, Meier sustained yet another injury. The Boston Bruins and New Jersey played on December 30th, with the Devils forward missing the third period.

We were unaware of the nature of the injury. As per Lindy Ruff, head coach of the Devils, Meier sustained a fresh injury. He didn’t make an already-existing one worse.

Following practice on Tuesday, Ruff clarified, “This is a new injury.” “He will receive additional evaluation today. I hope it won’t take too long.

“It’s kind of mid-body,” he continued.

Meier suffered a lower-body injury previously. This season, he missed seven games and is still dealing with the fallout. He has, however, recently improved, netting four goals in his last five games.

Ruff hopes Meier’s injury won’t last “too long,” but he will miss the minimum number of games the Devils have scheduled.

On Wednesday, the Devils play the Capitals in Washington. Meier is unable to travel.

Ruff stated, “He’s just being evaluated.” “He’s not going to travel to Washington and he’s not going to play in that game,”

Meier is paired with Dawson Mercer and Michael McLeod in the lineup. Meier was replaced on the third line by Curtis Lazar while he was away.
