A devastating moment for the Chiefs as another important player is revealed to be seriously injured after Mahomes is ruled out of their game against the Chargers on sunday.

Three Kansas City players—wide receiver Mecole Hardman, linebacker Nick Bolton, and running back Jerick McKinnon—have injury concerns as the Chiefs get ready to play the Chargers on Sunday.

Head coach Andy Reid offered to keep McKinnon out of practice on Saturday when he spoke with reporters prior to practice on Wednesday at the team facility.

Reid then brought up Bolton, who suffered a wrist injury on January 1st and was placed on the team’s Reserve/Injured (injured reserve) list.

Reid said, “Nick Bolton will get some work today.” “We’ll gradually progress him and observe his performance.”

A player on Reserve/Injured cannot return to the roster until they have missed four games, not four weeks, as per NFL regulations. In actuality, Bolton was on the list for four games, the most recent of which was Sunday’s game in Las Vegas.

Reid’s statement means that Bolton will be listed as “designated for return” from Reserve/Injured when the league releases its official transaction report on Wednesday. This gives him a window of 21 days to practice with the team. Bolton can be added to the roster at any point during this window; however, if it closes without him being added, he will have to play the remainder of the season on Reserve/Injured.

Lastly, we have a chance to provide an update on Hardman, who suffered a thumb injury on Saturday and was placed on injured reserve. He announced on X, the platform that was formerly known as Twitter, that his thumb surgery went well.

He wrote, “I’ll be back regular season, though,” on social media shortly after. The game against the Chargers is the earliest one in which the wideout could be used.
