Zac Taylor is left completely bewildered, as the Bengals have suffered a severe injury setback as another elite player suffered a triceps injury that may end his career.

Imagine that you are on course to earn over $20 million in your next contract in a sport where a serious injury could drastically alter that amount.

While it is possible to play through hamstring strains, it is not always a good idea because they can cause other injuries, persist for a long time, or even recur.

Furthermore, skill players who are nursing less-than-perfect hamstring health tend to appear less explosive.

Head coach Zac Taylor said that, in spite of all those worries, superstar wide receiver Tee Higgins of the Cincinnati Bengals chose to play himself back into a close game against the Kansas City Chiefs with his team’s postseason destiny at stake.

And he entered the game and produced a huge play, drawing a 30-yard defensive pass interference call in the third quarter that gave the Bengals a 17–13 lead and moved them to the Kansas City 15-yard line. Cincinnati could have virtually put the game out of reach on that drive if they hadn’t turned the ball over on downs.

Both Higgins’ emphasis on the team and Ja’Marr Chase’s readiness to play despite a shoulder injury conveyed a strong message.

One of the encouraging things that can be learned from a game that tragically ended Cincinnati’s season is that these Bengals never gave up.
