LeBron James of the Lakers continues to be an injured party….
In the Los Angeles Lakers’ thorough 129-109 defeat to the New Orleans Pelicans last night, four of your players looked impressive, at least from an offensive standpoint.
Center Anthony Davis scored twenty points on seven of fifteen field goals, six of eight free-throw attempts, ten rebounds, five blocks, and three assists. Austin Reaves, a combo guard, scored twenty points on seven of twelve field goals and five of six free throws. Taurean Prince, a shooting guard, scored 15 points on 5-of-9 field goals and 1 of 1 free throws.
However, the oldest player in the league, All-NBA point guard/forward LeBron James, scored 34 points on 12-of-24 shooting from the field and 7-of-8 from the foul line, in addition to eight assists and five rebounds.
James celebrated his 39th birthday this past weekend with a sad 108-106 victory over the Minnesota Timberwolves, which he combined with 26 points, five assists, three rebounds, three steals, and one blocks.
Apparently he was feeling under the weather when he performed all that. According to Brett Martel of The Associated Press, James struggled with “flu-like symptoms” during both games.
“We definitely need to work things out and improve,” James thought to himself. Our squad does not have a preference for playing from behind. We have spent a lot of time like that this year.
Hopefully, the bug does not worsen and result in James missing additional time. If he does, the Lakers may have to endure even more depressing defeats than the ones they are now experiencing because of him!
I hope he heals quickly.
