Approximately three to five Eagles players are seriously injured….
The Philadelphia Eagles have been severely impacted by injuries at points in 2023.
Fortunately, the defending NFC Champions appear to be regaining health just in time to attempt a conference title defense.
Guard Landon Dickerson and cornerback Avonte Maddox were not listed as injured in the Eagles’ most recent injury report, which might mean that both players make a comeback against the Arizona Cardinals on Sunday. Before start, though, supporters will have to wait until Maddox is formally removed off injured reserve.
Dickerson had thumb surgery the week before, therefore he was unable to participate in Philadelphia’s 33-25 victory over the New York Giants. After their defeat to the Dallas Cowboys three weeks prior, this will be the first time the Eagles offensive line has used their entire starting lineup from Week 1.
When Maddox sustained a torn pec during the Eagles’ victory over the Minnesota Vikings in Week 2, the team was worried that they had lost their starting slot corner. Instead, Maddox might start against the Eagles and Cardinals. This would be a significant addition to the secondary, which is currently missing Darius Slay after he underwent knee surgery three weeks ago.
With Maddox and Dickerson expected back, the Eagles will start 19 of the original 22 players who started the 22nd season and were a part of a team that finished 10-1 before suffering three consecutive losses. With linebacker Nicholas Morrow slated to return after missing the victory over New York due to an abdominal ailment, that number may also rise.
