Jalen Hurts, a wide receiver for the Philadelphia Eagles, was chosen for a random drug test when he got to his locker following the team’s 34-31 overtime victory over the Washington Commanders on Sunday, as reported by Chris Franklin of NJ Advance Media.

In addition to his first two touchdowns of the season, Brown had nine receptions for 175 yards, including a 28-yard score with 1:43 left to give Philadelphia a 31-24 lead and a 59-yard score in the third quarter. It was his second performance of more than 100 yards in a row.

 

Brown has previously been chosen for random testing following a strong performance. Following a three-touchdown contest against the Pittsburgh Steelers in Week 8, he was subjected to one last season.

Brown then mentioned NFL Commissioner Rodger Goodell in a post on X, the platform that was formerly known as Twitter

As results can vary depending on how the drug test is taken, it is currently unknown what Brown’s test results are.

According to the NFL’s policy on performance-enhancing drugs and drug testing, ten players from each club—including practice squad members—are chosen at random by a computer program each week during the regular season.

The NFL began testing players for drugs at the beginning of 1987, but it wasn’t until the 1989 season that the league began suspending players.

Brown, dubbed the “Swole Batman,” simply outmatched the Steelers secondary physically. In addition to his three touchdowns, Brown had six receptions for 156 receiving yards, which helped the Eagles, who were 7-0 overall, defeat the Steelers 34-14.

After seven games with the Eagles, the former Ole Miss Rebels receiver now has 39 receptions, 659 receiving yards, and five touchdowns.

According to CBS Sports, Brown is also the first Eagles player since Ben Hawkins in 1969 to have three receiving touchdowns of 25 yards or more in a single game.
