How the Los Angeles Rams secure a Week 17 spot in the NFL Playoffs
The Los Angeles Rams were 3-6 after losing to the Green Bay Packers 20-3 after nine weeks of the 2023 NFL season.
However, the Rams have won five of their last six games following their Week 10 bye, with their lone defeat coming at the hands of the AFC-leading Baltimore Ravens. That, too, was during overtime.
During this six-game streak, Matthew Stafford, who only appeared in nine games the previous season, has performed incredibly well, averaging 263 passing yards per game and scoring 15 touchdowns against just two interceptions.
The 35-year-old completed 24 of 34 passes for 328 yards and two touchdown passes in LA’s 30-22 victory over the New Orleans Saints in Week 16. With a passer rating of 120.7, it was his fifth consecutive game with a rating of 103 or higher.
The Rams are currently 8-7 and will face the New York Giants in Week 17 from the No. 6 spot in the overall NFC standings.
With an identical 8-7 record, the Seattle Seahawks are ranked No. 7, while the Vikings, Packers, Saints, and Falcons are all one game behind with 7-8 records.
