Ryan-Day

After much disappointment, Ryan Day finally disclosed the departure of a crucial player who had finally inked a new contract with another tem, which has dealt a serious blow to the Lions.

Kyle McCord, a Buckeye from Ohio State, has chosen to use the transfer portal.

McCord, a member of the team since 2021, started as the starting quarterback for the Buckeyes in 2023. Head coach Ryan Day’s indecision regarding McCord starting for the Buckeyes against Mizzou in their bowl game prompted the junior to access the transfer portal.

“When you come up short, the bottom line is you got to look at everything, because you didn’t get it done, and that’s the thing that is just sobering here,” Day explained. “It’s just not good enough that you fail on the final possession at 11-1. You must therefore examine everything, and we shall do the same.”

Here are five potential destinations for Ohio State quarterback Josh McCord now that he is in the transfer portal.

Kentucky Wildcats are ranked first on the Kyle McCord transfer portal.
It looks like the Kentucky Wildcats will be pursuing a new starting quarterback through the transfer portal for the second consecutive year.

In the event that Devin Leary of Kentucky is headed to the NFL, McCord makes sense for the Wildcats.

Having played well for Ohio State in the previous campaign, McCord should be able to guide Kentucky’s offense the following year.

#2: Seminoles from Florida State
Even though they finished the season 13-0, the Florida State Seminoles were not selected for the college football playoffs.

Florida State needs to look through the transfer portal to find a new quarterback because Jordan Travis is leaving for the NFL.

It makes sense for the Seminoles to add McCord for a quarterback competition if they want to stay at the top of the ACC, as Tate Rodemaker hasn’t shown much in his limited opportunities.

#3. Bulldogs from Mississippi StateThe Mississippi State Bulldogs must find a new quarterback.
The Mississippi State Bulldogs must find a new quarterback.

In 2024, the Mississippi State Bulldogs will begin their quarterback search.

Kyle McCord might take Will Rogers’ place after he entered the transfer portal last year. Jeff Lebby, the offensive coordinator for the Oklahoma Sooners, was hired by the Bulldogs as their new head coach. It is likely that he will pursue a quarterback of his own.

Mississippi State has to have McCord on the team because he has demonstrated in college that he can win crucial games and contribute to the team’s success.

#4: The Cornhuskers of Nebraska
Kyle McCord would seem to fit in well with the Nebraska Cornhuskers if he wants to stay in the Big 10.

After yet another disappointing season, it is anticipated that Nebraska will use the transfer portal to locate a new quarterback. All three of them suffered with turnovers, and the quarterback position was a moving target.

The Cornhuskers’ offense would be strengthened and their chances of winning the Big Ten would be increased if they could sign McCord.

North Carolina Tar Heels, #5.
Due to Drake Maye’s departure for the NFL, the North Carolina Tar Heels will need to find a replacement quarterback.

According to every report, the Tar Heels will be using the transfer portal to locate a new starting quarterback. The Tar Heels will want McCord to move the ball downfield because he has demonstrated that he is a smart player with the ball. UNC will still have a fantastic offense.
