WR CeeDee Lamb of the Dallas Cowboys could break numerous franchise records against Detroit on Saturday night.

The Dallas Cowboys‘ victory over the Detroit Lions is the main event of the evening. Thanks to a win over the Lions in particular, a victory keeps Dallas alive in the NFC East and locks up the #2 seed in the conference. The more games Dallas can play at AT&T Stadium, especially if two of those games separate them from the conference championship game, the better, as they are a much superior team at home compared to away.

Even though they are not as important as the big picture, there are still a lot of things at stake on Saturday night. After CeeDee Lamb’s season, there are two people who can see him approaching very quickly in the rearview mirror. We are in the penultimate week of the regular season, which means that things like records are within sight for some.

On Saturday night, CeeDee Lamb has the opportunity to break numerous franchise records.
It seems inconceivable that anyone could be unaware of Lamb’s incredible season-long tear throughout 2023. That may even be selling it short.

Even with 15 games remaining in the season, Lamb has already surpassed his career best in a number of areas:

Acceptances
Getting yards
Getting touchdowns—which he is now tied for in his career—
Catch percentage (not guaranteed)
Yards for each goal may vary.
Making hasty attempts
sprinting across the yard
sprinting for touchdowns
Although Lamb has already had some very successful seasons for the Cowboys, it is still pretty impressive that he has outperformed them all. After all, reaching a career goal is something that can only be evaluated by oneself.

Lamb clearly plays for a historically significant team, and if he or anyone else ever forgets that, all we have to do is look at the number he wears. Though he still has a ways to go before he can be considered the greatest receiver to wear the number 88, in terms of single-season achievements, he is very close to overtaking all of them.

As we approach the penultimate week of the regular season, CeeDee Lamb has 1,424 yards and 109 receptions. In terms of Dallas Cowboys franchise records for a single season, these two are ranked third.
