Patrick Mahomes sent this important message regarding the final two games, acknowledging his team and supporters.
Tight end Travis Kelce referred to Monday’s Chiefs loss as “embarrassing.”
They will have another chance to secure the AFC West against Cincinnati on Sunday, so they must move past their performance against Las Vegas.
Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes, who completed 27 of 44 passes for 235 yards, a touchdown, and an interception on Monday, stated in his press conference on Wednesday that the team can still achieve its ultimate objectives. But as a unit, the offense needs to be more cohesive.
“Offenses in this league require everyone—it starts with me, it spreads to everyone else, and everyone needs to be on the same page,” Mahomes stated. “We were hurt this past week because there were times when we weren’t on the same page. I think these guys are real. We go out there and record everything we can, even though I know we say that every week. We work extremely hard.
“I have faith that these guys will keep working hard because everyone is giving this game their all both during the week and during the game. To prove it, we still have two games left. At the end of the day, we can discuss it endlessly because we still have two games left to prove that the effort we put in each week will be rewarded.

Mahomes continued, “The Chiefs can still make a run in the postseason even with the conference’s top seed eliminated.”
“Everyone has the opportunity to go out there and win it once you reach the playoffs,” Mahomes remarked. That, in my opinion, begins with the way we practice today. We are familiar with Cincinnati, we know they will play hard, they have a strong football team and defense, and we will be up against a formidable offensive opponent.
This week, Mahomes said, he’s been hard on himself, especially with his footwork and drifting out of the pocket. However, he’s also maintaining his optimism to inspire the group.
“I believe that people perceive annoyance and believe it generates controversy,” Mahomes stated. “In my opinion, it’s a means of demonstrating that people are concerned about their work and making every effort to win games. Obviously, we want to project a positive image and all that when I witness things like that. I see someone who is interested in improving—not for themselves, but for the team—and who cares about the game.
On Sunday afternoon, we’ll see if the Chiefs can turn this misfortune into a positive development.
