Trai Hume, a standout for Sunderland, talks about the terrible injury blow that “does not look pleasant” before Rotherham United
We would all be very disappointed if the injury caused the team to fail.

Huggins began the Championship match against Coventry City at the Stadium of Light last Saturday, starting at right-back alongside Hume on the other flank. However, Huggins was taken out on a stretcher with what appeared to be a significant leg injury.

When Sunderland faced Hull City on Boxing Day, head coach Michael Beale started summer transfer Jenson Seelt at right-back. The visitors won 1-0 thanks to a goal from Jack Clarke, and they managed to keep a clean sheet.

“After the Hull City game, when asked about Huggins’ injury, Hume commented, “It is a significant setback for Huggy.” It is not pleasant. After a protracted absence, he returned and was exceptional. I felt that he was one of our finest players on the team, so it is unfortunate for him to suffer an injury that does not seem favorable, but knowing Huggy, he has a tremendous work ethic and will recover.”

Hume remarked of Seelt, who was competing in his fourth Championship, that “I felt he was amazing today.” I felt we were really good, especially with the two sitters in the back four and the disciplined offensive guys.”

Now, in an attempt to defeat the Championship struggling team, Rotherham United, Sunderland will visit the New York Stadium on Friday under the direction of Beale’s team.

“It is tough to play against Rotherham,” Hume continued. “Especially at home, they play off second balls and are straightforward. We were defeated by them at their house last year. We will need to go there, be well-prepared, and aim to win three points since they are a formidable team at home.
