Matthew Donohue will start in the middle this weekend against Sunderland, according to confirmation from the EFL.

In their last game before Christmas Day, City takes on the Black Cats at the Stadium of Light, with kickoff set for 3 p.m.

The last time Donohue managed a Sky Blues game was in April, at the Coventry Building Society Arena, when City defeated Reading 2-1.

Robert Hyde and Paul Hodskinson will help him. There will be a fourth official, Simon Mather.

Over the past few weeks, Will Still has been in the spotlight because, at one point, he appeared to be the front-runner to take over Sunderland.

Additionally, there is a connection to Stoke City and Swansea City.

After Michael Beale was ultimately named the Black Cats’ new manager, the Belgian manager is now free to discuss the events of the past and his future goals.

Speaking to Het Nieuwsblad, as reported by Voetbal Primeur, Still disclosed that clubs other than Sunderland had expressed interest in signing him, including Stoke City and Swansea City.

“Yes, I do believe that my next club will be in England. That’s what comes to mind.
