Safety Cameron Martinez of Ohio State declared his plan to use the transfer portal.

The native of Muskegon, Michigan, talked with 247Sports about his future plans.

“Really my biggest thing I’m looking for at the next school is the opportunity to kind of show my entire skill set and continue my development,” he explained. “I think I developed my all around skill set and there’s some things that also came naturally to me and so that’s led to me wanting to be somewhere I can move around more or play more of a traditional safety, or even go back to the other side of the ball.”

Martinez, a dynamic offensive player in high school who was coveted by several schools as a receiver, has an intriguing opportunity on the opposite side of the ball. He won Michigan High School Player of the Year twice.

“I’m open to any part of the country, just looking for best fit,” stated the man.

Martinez finished his Buckeye career with 36 tackles, one interception (returned for a touchdown), and four pass break-ups.

His eligibility will last for another two years.

Schools will be able to get in touch with and make offers to Martinez and other FBS transfers when the transfer portal officially opens on December 4.
