Oklahoma City Thunder guard Hamidou Diallo was diagnosed on Thursday with a sprained left ankle; he will undergo another evaluation in seven to ten days.
The news was good for the 20-year-old rookie, who was carted off the court after suffering an awkward landing on his lower left leg during the Thunder’s 123-95 victory over the Golden State Warriors on Wednesday. With 7:23 remaining in the game, Diallo suffered a serious injury that left him in excruciating pain
. Prior to him being wheeled off the court, his teammates were attempting to calm him down. X-rays taken after the game revealed nothing and ruled out a major leg injury.
–The Boston Celtics’ Kyrie Irving expressed regret for remarks he made regarding the Thanksgiving holiday, saying he didn’t mean any offense and was just frustrated by his team’s most recent defeat.
The guard responded to a reporter who wished him a happy Thanksgiving, saying, “F— Thanksgiving,” after Boston’s Wednesday night 117-109 home loss to the New York Knicks.
The Celtics had lost three games in a row. Irving explained to NBC Sports Boston that his Native American ancestry is the reason he opposes Thanksgiving.

Following surgery to remove bone spurs from his left ankle in April, Nowitzki has been recuperating.
The German can now feel himself getting closer to being ready to go. He had hoped to be ready for the start of the season but had a setback before training camp.
“It’s just hard when I haven’t done much for eight weeks and there’s a 40-year-old basically starting from scratch to try to get back in shape to play NBA minutes,” Nowitzki told the media.
“Hopefully not too soon. Hopefully, my body will react appropriately, and I’ll be ready by December. Guard Markelle Fultz of the Philadelphia 76ers said through his agent that he has not asked to be traded.
Agent Raymond Brothers told ESPN, “I have not indicated to (general manager) Elton Brand or anyone else that Markelle would prefer to be traded.
